Oh my goodness! I am so excited!
I got a 5-star review from for DARK SKIES.

If you'd like to check out the review, here's the link.

Dark Skies only has one review on Amazon right now.
So, I was super nervous about submitting this book to a professional/editorial company.
Good reviews are never a guarantee when authors submit for book reviews,
we have to take the good with the bad.

Imagine my relief when I saw the 5-stars!
If I could do cartwheels, I would have been doing some.

I can breathe again. LOL!

My 1st newsletter is live!

Choose Your Path Newsletter
Issue 1
is live!!

I am so excited about this. It's my first endeavor with newsletters and to be honest I don't know whether I produced it correctly, but I love what I'm sharing with you and I hope you do too!

Here's a tip for writers. I share this tip because this newsletter process brought out a lot of fears in me. As writers, we are creators. Words are our paint and our melody. And because we create with our hearts, publishing anything is often scary and nerve wracking. We want people to love our work or at least like it.

We fear those trolls who bash writers and authors for no good reason.

We fear because our hearts are on the line. We are not robots. When the words flow, they are a beautiful combination of love and inspiration and that's what we put out there. We hope that people will fall in love with all our work. But to soften the blow, we also tell ourselves ahead of time that not everyone will like our work.

It's a delicate balance we play each time we produce a book, a post, a blog, or a newsletter. Yes, I hope everyone likes the newsletter as much as me, but that won't be the case.

Here's the thing though, despite my fears, and nerves, and anxiety, and all the other negatives that ran through my mind on why I shouldn't do a newsletter, I pushed through. It took a while to silence my inner negative voice. But man oh man, when that negative voice finally quieted, you know what I heard? The happy, rejuvenating, joyous creative voice begging to create.

I listened to her and followed her whims and I am oh so happy for it.

At the end of the day, I realized that my love of writing and creating stories is what makes me giddy with joy.

Choose Your Path Newsletter

I'm very excited! I'm starting a Newsletter! Whoop!!

This is the first ever and I've just finished drafting the first edition. My plan is to publish the Choose Your Path Newsletter once a month -- the third Thursday of every month. Why the third Thursday? I figure this would give me enough time between each issue to find content to share.

The first issue is scheduled to go out this month on April 20, 2017 and is loaded with book recommendations. I think each issue will be a little bit different so that I can offer a variety of information to my readers. But my goal is to deliver and over deliver. I have an awesome group and I want to provide awesome content too.

I'm excited for it! I really hope my readers like it as much as I do.

If you'd like to be included, sign up to my list.

Music and Writing

I did this interview a couple of years ago (I think) during a blog tour. I just now found it again and thought it would be fun to share here.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE music. I don't remember not ever having some type of music playing around me. From the time I was little and could start wiggling my bum to now when everything jiggles on its own! LOL!

I can listen to all genres of music, it really just depends on my mood and sometimes even where I'm at in life. Some music have made me cry and some have vocalized the emotions I couldn't. I wouldn't be the same person, if I didn't have music in my life.

I hope you enjoy this list :)

**Originally submitted to Book Quarry for my blog tour**

I have very eclectic taste in music.  I can listen to just about any genre of music from classical to house music! Just depends on the mood. But when I think about the series, these are the songs that come to mind. I think that when you check out these songs, there's a certain feel you'll find consistent through all the songs -- sexy, sweeping rocking vocals, with a touch of dark and edgy, just like the series.

1. The Humbling River by: Puscifer

2. This is Jack's House (by Mr. Fingers) Remix by Salkizar

3. November Rain by: Guns N' Roses

4. My Immortal by: Evanescence

5. Moment of Peace by: Enigma, Era, Gregorian

6. Oh my God! by: Pink, featuring Peaches

Happy New Year's Eve!

2016 for me was a year full of lessons. In the end, I consider all lessons to be good. Lessons help us grow and expand. They make us stronger and wiser. But man, many of the lessons I got in 2016 came only after a lot of butt kicking and pain. I came to understand what true struggle really is and for that I have a much different perspective on life. Stress and anxiety were my norm in 2016. I learned to cope despite wanting to break down.

Now, I feel the weight lifting off my shoulders and I feel like I can breathe again. I'm happy for it. I'm relieved, but it's a change and it makes me nervous. Here I stand, on the very last day of the year and I'm alive and better. I'm a little bit worn and ragged, but I'm stronger. I've proven that I'm a tough cookie, even though I don't want to really admit it :) LOL!

I am looking forward to a fresh year and a fresh start. I have some lofty personal goals that I've set, which is a change for me. Whether I accomplish those goals or fail miserably, who knows? I won't worry about it now. 2016 taught me to push forward and keep going -- no matter what.

For 2017, I embrace the lessons I've learned and I bring those lessons with me as tools and as weapons to get through the challenges that will be ahead of me... because there will be. But, I'm better prepared.

How was your 2016? I hope it was better than mine. But if you struggled as well, know that there is an end in sight and things WILL get better. Even in the darkest of night, there is always a light that shines. You'll find that light. Stay strong, keep believing and you will emerge a bad-ass on the other side!

I wish you all the VERY BEST 2017 and every year after. You all mean so much to me.
Spread love and light.
